| Review (Summary): "The GR Digital II sports a 28mm-equivalent lens, which feeds light to a 10.1-megapixel CCD sensor, while a 2.7-inch LCD screen on the back lets you frame your shot. Instead of a built-in optical viewfinder, Ricoh offers a couple of accessory viewfinders that occupy the hot shoe: one (the GV-2) provides a 28mm field of view for the built-in lens; The other (the GV-1) can span 21-28mm, making it a perfect companion for the wide-angle conversion lens (the GW-1), which turns the built-in lens into a 21mm-equivalent. ...
... Images from the GR Digital II are nice, but not nearly as nice as they should be for a camera of this price. According to our color accuracy lab test, the colors aren't quite as accurate as most compact cameras, though they still look natural, so most users should still be pleased with the results. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "... It packs a 10 Megapixel CCD, a fast 28 mm lens, manual controls, support for the RAW image format, and a 2.7" LCD display. Two unique features include a 1:1 ratio mode (which simulates medium format cameras), and a "leveling meter", which helps prevent crooked photos (and boy, do I need that). The GR II is expandable as well, offering conversion lenses, optical viewfinders, and a remote shutter release cable. ...
... It takes good quality photos (though no better than cheaper cameras), is well put together, expandable, and chock full of manual controls. If you've got $700 to blow on a fixed focal length camera, then I can recommend the GR Digital II. For the more budget conscious people out there, you can get a camera that's at least as capable for 50% less. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "The GR Digital II is a replacement for the original GR Digital which Ricoh launched in 2005. ...It has the same high quality non-zoom f/2.4 GR lens with a focal length of 5.9mm, equivalent to a fixed 28mm wide-angle. In fact sitting the two camera side-by-side it's hard to tell them apart at first glance. ...
... The Ricoh GR Digital II is a unique and ambitious camera. Despite its lack of a zoom lens it offers a level of versatility higher than almost any other pocket-sized compact camera on the market. Handling, performance and build quality are all of a very high standard, and image quality is excellent at low ISO settings. More importantly it is a genuine pleasure to use and encourages creative photography. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "A successor to the award-winning GR Digital, which was released in October 2005, Ricoh's GR Digital II offers higher resolution and a new GR Engine II image processor but otherwise retains most of the features that made its predecessor popular with photo enthusiasts. Superficially, the diecast magnesium bodies of both cameras are almost identical, but the new model sports a slightly larger LCD. ...
... Shots taken with the test camera were richly detailed with natural-looking colors and atypically restrained saturation for a digicam. Skin tones were particularly well rendered. Imatest confirmed the lower saturation levels and showed the test camera to be capable of both excellent resolution and very good color accuracy, regardless of whether shots were captured as raw files or JPEGs. ..."

| Review (Summary): "The 10-megapixel GR Digital II is the first Ricoh model we have seen since the Caplio GX back in 2004. With a 5.9mm (28mm equivalent) fixed lens, this new model is not your standard digicam, lacking most of the user-friendly features that are found on most consumer level cameras (Face Detection AF, etc). Even though the GRD2 does feature a fully automatic shooting mode, it is aimed more towards enthusiast or creative users who have more photography experience. ...
With a fixed 28mm (5.9mm) equivalent lens, 10-megapixel imaging sensor and more tweaking options than you will typically find on other compact cameras, the GRD2 is geared for more advanced photographers that are looking for total control. Performance and image quality are excellent, but with a MSRP of US$699 this is an expensive camera. ..." |

| Review (Summary): "This is no ordinary compact camera. It's a simple but fully manual 10megapixel compact. You don't even get an optical zoom lens - it's a top of the line 28mm f2.4 single focus prime lens instead, which for many may be reason enough to step away from the GR DIGITAL II philosophy of working. ...
... The Ricoh GR DIGITAL II is a specialist camera - it's not for everyone, but for everyday for those who fall for its unique charms. Once you get into the 'old' style way of working, the conversion lenses and the like, it's an inspiring way of working that delivers great results. ..." |
